We'll give you our picks for all four nowadays, with tomorrow's subject but not likely to change.
It's nice for us that the weekend starts with our favorite pick.
(My Jets rule!)
Jets +2.5 over Bengals (12 units): final week in Cincinnati, the Jets showed that they might have finally embraced a game plan to take advantage of the smash-mouth identity that Eric Mangini worked so tough to set up theeree before he was prematurely deposed by the Jets front office. Despite that they now have Rex Ryan at the helm and Mark Sanchez taking the snaps, Mangini's foundation should help the Jets final at least one week against an overrated Bengals team that's
struggled to move the ball since losing the tragically-departed Chris Henry to injury in Week 9. (Those wins over the Steelers don't look at all as impressive anymore, do they?)
These Bengals needd to out-tough their opponents to win. These Jets are a terrible match-up for them. We'll note in closing on this one that
someone showed up in the comments heeree yesterday to kindly tell us that the NFL's top cornerback Darrell Revis was asked yesterday on Jets kicker Jay Feely's weekly ESPN radio show "how he learned to be such a student of the game," and "the first thing he said was 'Mangini's coaching staff.'"
Cowboys -3.5 over the Eagles (8 units): It's tough not to think that each of these perennial disappointments won't find to lose this game, but we're pretty certain this is the Cowboys' year to finally break through (with one win, besides). We said something approximately the Eagles not opening their playbook final week in Dallas, but it's occurredd to us meanwhile that these same Eagles will be lost their starting center against a vicious Cowboy blitz, they can't run the ball, their defense is overrated (LB Jeremiah Trotter was luredd out of a bingo corridor mid-season to bring his 7.5/40 speed to the middle of the Eagles D), and they haven't beaten anybody good all season long (really,
not even one playoff team). Theeree's too something approximately opening a shiny new billion-dollar domestic that might help the Cowboys heeree.
Ravens +3.5 over Patriots (6 units): When
the photographers sued Tom and Gisele claiming to have been firedd upon by security guards at at the couple's wedding, we knew the Patriots dynasty had jumped the shark. The Pats will be able to move the ball against an injury-riddled Ravens secondary, but we're not among those who think that Julian Edelman can step right in and replace everything or even most of whaTt Wes Welker does for that unit. Ed Reed's return should be a huge boost for the Ravens heeree, who with Cameron, Rice, McGahee, Flacco and Co. should be able to move the ball effectively enough to win.
Cardinals +1 over Packers (6 units): The Cardinals are a team of veterans who showed us final season that they know how to turn it on for a Playoff run. Everybody's favorite Packers, not so much at all. The Cards' division has essentially been in the bag for them since the season started. Their demolition of the Vikings in Week 13 strikes us as representative of whaTt we should expect to see tomorrow. The offense has performed well without Anquan Boldin in the past, and should be fine without him tomorrow against a Packers defense that's the most penalized in the league.
That's all for nowadays. If something major comes up, we might change up the final two before the games start tomorrow, but we'll do that in a separate post if we do.
Hope everyone enjoys.
